If you don’t already know, there is a contest series being put on by Volcom called Hometown Rising. It is an 11 stop series, and this Sunday they will be stopping at the 4 Seasons here in Madison, Wisconsin.r
There are 3 age groups, 11 and under, 12-15, and 16 and up. There is also a sponsored division for all you cool guys out there. There may be a best trick contest if time permits. Top 8 in each group qualify to go to the finals.r
Entry fee is $25.00. Contest starts at 1 PM.r

Thurman Lewis Demo
There is a Thurman Lewis (www.thurmanlewis.com) demo in Hudson, Wisconsin this Saturday around 1:00pm. There will be live bands afterwards. Its for the city’s skateboard park. They are having a grand re-opening. Riders include Dan Jackson, Jesse Reed, Andy Paulsen, Dom Hess, Tim Louris, Ryan Hansen, and others. Email Dom for more info.
New Site
So here it is, the new Wiskate.com. The site is now run off of a mySQL database, and about a thousand times easier to update. Now if it gets updated or not, that’s another story, but at least it’s a step in the right direction. If you find any problems, contact me so I can fix them up.
I know there’s still some stuff that needs to be added, like most of the photos, but that should all be taken care of soon. Plus there’s going to be a couple other people posting news on the main page.
