As Tim had mentioned in his last post, there was a Sky High conceived 80s skate jam last weekend in the parking lot of Classic Slice. Initially, not many wore the gear and I sadly didn’t see any slappy feebles on the double barreled pvc slider bar.
The quality of the experience definitely grew more authentic a bit later after Aaron gave out all his “Tony Hawk 720” lavender wallets and “BALLZ OUT” fluorescent tank tops. Rob rolled in with the sickest gear, and Tim and I poorly ran various 80s trick related contests (which no one succesfully landed) for some free boards. (We gave them out anyway.) While no ladders were stale fish’d over, I think the day was a radical success.
Tim Olson – Method
Tj Bohach – Airwalk
Tim Olson – Indy Tuck Knee
Danny Stemper – Slashin’ (Danny’s outfit was hated on by some old dudes who said “We wouldn’t have worn that!” The fact that it was hated on hyped me up.)
Dude looked good.
Real good.
Tj Bohach – Crail to tail.
Sam – Skate or Die tail drop. I think Tim gave him a board for successful landage.
After skating, I bought a T-Hawk 720 wallet for 75 cents from some kid. We tried for awhile to get any 12 year old to sell their hot pink BALLZ OUT tank top for up to and including a princely sum of $2.00, but those little guys were not selling. Scott was bummed because he wanted one so very badly.
