Could it be?!
Time Machine Uncategorized
Real news you say? Hold on there tiger, the sneaker mill has been a churning…Apparently Tim O’connor didn’t like his pro model for Savier as much as it seemed because he’s off the team. Savier also lost Jani Latiala or whatever and Jose Rojo opted for Lakai.(good move) In other shoe gossip, Jamie Thomas is no longer skating for C1rca (isn’t that spelling retarded?) and rumor has him starting up a new shoe company through black box. Could it be that the C1rca video was not going to feature his part last? Could it be that he wants to steer the ship? Who knows, those of us not in the mix can only guess. The beer of choice for the skateboarder of the new millenium is Stella Artois. There is something big going down at Emerica/Etnies/Es and no one really knows what. Well, no one except lord crue, but he is not allowed to tell said troll at this particular time. I will tell you this, it has to do with that one big rider and his contract, that narrows it down to about 12 fellers. That’s all for now kiddies, until then, sleep well young prince.

EAST COAST UPDA….uhhhh RUNE GLIFBERG UPDATE! Do the Dew bro
Time Machine Uncategorized
Lake Forest, CA. (30 July, 2003) – Widely recognized as one of the most stylish and advanced skaters in the world, etnies proudly welcomes Mr. Rune Glifberg to the team.
Rune first started skating back in early 1986 at the age of eleven in Denmark, Copenhagen after a friend introduced him to the wooden toy that would forever change his life. A naturally talented skater from the get go, Rune started killing it as soon as he learned how to ollie, and, years later, found himself winning one of the biggest pro contests in skateboarding, the Slam City Jam in 1996.
Rune’s win at Slam was not only a huge push in his career, but it also launched a firestorm of publicity that would garner him coverage in every major skateboarding magazine around the world. It was during this round of global recognition that many people had their very first glimpse of the destruction that Rune Glifberg regularly visits upon vert ramps…but it wouldn’t be their last.
Since then, Rune has consistently placed top three in contests, including a win at the 2001 Gravity Games and most recently a win at the 2003 World Cup contest in his hometown of Copenhagen. He’s given countless interviews, and has been featured on the cover of dozens of skateboarding magazines around the globe. Rune’s incredible skating, coupled with his friendly and often very funny personality, has earned him recognition as one of the most respected and admired skaters today. We are excited to add such an amazing individual to our team. Please help us welcome the one, the only, Rune Glifberg to etnies.
Welcome to the team, Rune!
Rune Glifberg rides for etnies Footwear, Flip Skateboards, Volcom Clothing, Ricta Wheels, Fury Trucks, Oakley Eyewear, and Mountain Dew.
Reviews Section
Time Machine Uncategorized
This has been quite awhile in the making. Basically, there is now a reviews section to the site where anyone can go and review skate videos. How this works is, first off you create a reviewer account. Then you can write your review and submit it to us here so we can check it out. It is then either accepted, and will go live on the site, or it will be rejected. If it is rejected, you can go to your user page and edit whatever it is that was wrong with it, and it will again be resubmitted to be checked out.
I can see this database of reviews growing pretty quick, so there will always be new reviews for kids to check out everyday, and all the latest releases should always be covered.
I’ve had some people from the message board trying it out for awhile, and so far it seems to be working alright. If you come across any problems, or have any ideas, email them this way.

Too big for britches?
Time Machine Uncategorized
So there seems to be this problem that plagues the entertainment industry. Certain people feel that since they are famous, thay have more ability than they actually do. Examples? You may or may not remember this, but Eddie Murphy tried to fashion himself as some sort Ray Charles. This may come as a surprise to you, but he failed, and failed hard. Another example? Britney and her feeble-ass attempt at opening at an eating hot-spot in NYC called NYLA. It was supposed to stand for New York-Louisiana. After the 100th person got food poisoning, they decided to call it a day and Britney hung up her chef’s hat. So you may be asking yourself where this going and how it applies to skateboarding…..Well children, in skateboarding, they problem seems to be almost exclusively invasive in the area of music. Let’s face it, while there are many skateboarder that are good musicians, the fact that you ride a skateboard does not give you permission to punish the rest of the world with shitty music and/or beats. Let’s take the trend as seen in the last few years, people making beats and weird little techno joints for the credits of transworld video whatever..Hey guys, Apple called and they want their beats back. That shit is so fucking wack it’s ridiculous. Why do you think that people need to be subjected to your garbage music?! If you want to make beats in the privacy of your own home, that’s great! I love music too and there’s nothing better than using it as your creative outlet. However, if it sucks balls, it sucks balls and the public doesn’t need to hear that shit. Same goes for video music arrangement. (see firm video) Ray Barbee is an awesome skater. He has such a rad style and seems as though he is always in a good mood. Now that we have that outof the way, why the fuck does he think his music is good!? “Cause it is Lord Crue, you don’t know what you are talking about!!” is that what you are saying young child? No, it’s not and when I hear the music in the Firm Video it makes me want to sacrifice and enitre flock of canadian geese. Fuck that garbage, are you kidding me? It’s soooo worthless it makes me puke. Sorry Ray, I just can’t keep quiet. So there are more for sure, but use your own imagination to think of the rest. First person to email me with another culprit wins a cute e-card and a hug. Until then….

DVS/Matix Demo
Time Machine Uncategorized
There’s a DVS/Matix demo today at the 4 Seasons in Milwaukee. Supposededly these people are going to be in attendance: Kieth Hufnagel, Daewon Song, Mike Taylor, Brandon Biebel, Steve Berra, and Van Wastell. I think it’s supposed to start at 3pm, but I doubt in the entire history of skateboarding demos, that a demo has ever started on time.
